Twee T. is a lamp system designed by Jake Phipps for Casamania. The idea of the cage traces the past tradition of the canary in the home: as far back as Egyptian civilizations and Roman times, its presence is detected in homes; in the Middle Ages and English courts, it is a sign of good manners to have them in drawing rooms. Thus, an icon of British high status is transformed into a lamp-object. A symbolic figure, embellished by gold plating and made useful for its illuminating function.
MATERIALS:
Cage made of metal rod.
Bird made of ceramic.
The LED illuminating body is in the base of the cage, covered by a double polycarbonate screen, which illuminates the environment on one side and the inside of the cage on the other.
